Fundraising FAQ

As AngelRide is designed as a fundraising event, each rider must raise a minimum of $500 in addition to the registration fee. In 2018, the average rider raised more than $1,000 and we’ve got lots of fundraising tips to help you reach (and even exceed) your goal! Note that all riders are required to raise the minimum of $500 by the July 1, 2020 deadline. Riders not reaching the minimum goal of $500.00 will have the balance due charged to the credit card used at the time of registration.

We’re glad you asked! All the proceeds will benefit the Arthur C. Luf Children’s Burn Camp.

Yes, every AngelRider is required to pay the registration fee and raise a minimum of $500 by the July 1, 2020 deadline. Riders not reaching the minimum goal of $500.00 will have the balance due charged to the credit card used at the time of registration.

Offline donations can take up to 3 weeks to process. These donations will not appear immediately.

Some donors choose to make their donation and the amount appear anonymously.

Please ask your donor to email us at info@angelride.org so that we can find out exactly how they want their gift information to read.

Many companies have matching gift programs. When a donor supports AngelRide their employer may donate the same amount or even more. It will just take the donor a few minutes to contact their HR department to see if they in fact have a matching gift program.

It’s important not to rely on these funds to meet your minimum fundraising commitment, since many companies have different policies on matching gifts and vary in processing time. We cannot guarantee the amount of time it takes for a company to approve the request, process the matching gift and mail the checks to Angel Charities, Inc.

It’s essential that the donor designate Angel Charities, Inc. as the non-profit organization using tax ID: 47-2608324

*All matching gift requests must be submitted to the employer prior to ride day, May 23, 2020. However that does not guarantee the matching gift will be received in time to apply that amount to your fundraising goal. Please submit matching gift requests with the employer as soon as possible.

AngelRide operates under the tax ID number for Angel Charities, Inc The tax ID is 47-2608324. We are listed under Angel Charities, Inc. PO Box 1013, Old Lyme, CT 06371

We have dedicated teams of Motorcycle Crew, SAG drivers, Rest Stop, and Medical Team volunteers (many who are firefighters, first responders, and EMTs) whose only job is looking out for your safety and support while providing opportunities for the best experience ever! Our routes are well-marked and feature Rest Stops every 15-20 miles. Rest Stops are manned with enthusiastic and caring volunteers! You will have available: snacks, hydration, first aid, facilities and bike techs. If you have trouble between stops, our SAG (Supply and Gear) Team can get you back on the road or transport you to the next rest stop. You will also be able to contact our CIC (Central Information and Communications) Center at any time if you need immediate help.

We do not publish turn-by-turn directions. Our permitting can change at any time. You are welcome to email us at Lynn@AngelRide.org with specific route questions. We would love to have you  join our training rides too!

Unfortunately, no. It is not safe for AngelRiders and road crew if there are extra vehicles on the route on the day of the event. Safety is our NUMBER ONE concern. We ask that family members travel to our Cheer Stations. We will publish these on the website as we get closer to ride day. Your family members can travel to the cheering stations, and then meet you back at The Arthur C. Luf Children’s Burn Camp in Union for the Finish Line Festival!

Sorry, only AngelRiders and designated AngelRide Volunteers will be allowed on the Camp Wightman grounds.

YES! Your family members can meet you at The Arthur C. Luf Children’s Burn Camp Saturday afternoon for the Finish Line Festival – music, food, fun and tours of the Camp!
