AngelRide REMOTE June 3 – 4, 2023
AngelRide CLASSIC started and finished at the Essex, CT Fire Department. Dedicated AngelRiders chose from a Metric Century route, a 20-mile Anniversary route, or a 3-mile Halo AngelRide for all ages and abilities. New this year, Class 1 E-bikes were welcomed on the 20-mile route and the 3-mile route. We held a staggered start with the Metric Century riders heading out early morning, the 20-mile riders late morning, and the 3-mile riders in the afternoon. Family & friends joined us to cheer at the Start and at the Finish Line! A picnic, fun activities, and entertainment round out this exceptional day! And, let’s not forget the Massage and Recovery Tent!
Metric Century Rest Stops were at North Madison Fire Department and Haddam Volunteer Fire Company Station #3. The 20-mile Rest Stop was at Plattwood Park in Deep River.
Nourishment and facilities were available at Rest Stops and our amazing volunteers provided unparalleled support along the route – SAG, MotoCrew, ARES, Bike Techs, Medical. We are grateful to the firehouse families for their involvement in AngelRide, and to Deep River Park & Rec – wow they are all amazing!
AngelRide REMOTE took place over the weekend in a location of the participants choosing.
AngelRide REMOTE welcomed cyclists (indoor, outdoor, electric), mountain bikers, runners, and walkers. They choose the location, day(s), route, and distance. They decided whether to gather together or to participate individually. An AngelRide volunteer cheered for them via text and assisted in the fun PokerRide card game. Stay tuned for the winner!
VOLUNTEERS were indispensable for all AngelRide events! We couldn’t do this without them! There were many choices for when and where they could help for both AngelRide CLASSIC and AngelRide REMOTE. Great job!
